The Danbury Garden Club offers two, $2,000 scholarships each year to qualified students from either Western Connecticut State University (WCSU) or Naugatuck Community College (NCC).

 

Requirements for Scholarship Applicants:

• A resident of the State of Connecticut

• WCSU or NCC full time student in good standing, in need of financial aid

• Majoring in plant biology, ecology, conservation, or related field

 

Requirements for St. James Juniors Applicants: One time per person award up to $1,000

• Minimum of three years participation in the club's St. James Jrs. after school program. One year must have been served during middle school

• Plan to attend a 2 year or 4 year college program

• Recommendation from a former or current Danbury Garden Club St. James Jrs. Chairperson

 

To Apply, Please Include:

• Completed application form to address listed below (download pdf by clicking here)

• A copy of your school transcript

• Help us get to know you by including a personal letter, no more than 2 pages, telling us about your background, career goals, commitment to your chosen field of study, and comments about how the scholarship will be helpful to you

• A list of extracurricular activities and/or honors received

• One letter of recommendation, one page, discussing applicant’s scholastic ability, character, and work-related experience
