On April 25, 2024, Danbury Garden Club’s Speaker Program features award-winning floral designer, Larry Huzi who will demonstrate how to create multiple designs with a bold creative approach.  

 

Larry is an accredited NGC Judge, a member of CT Judges Council and Creative Arrangers of CT. He is the recipient of numerous top awards for his creative designs and the proud recipient of The Federated Garden Club of CT Tribute Award for design. His work has been featured in Flower Shows, exhibited at the Florence Griswold Museum, Wadsworth Atheneum and New Britain Museum of Modern Art. 

 

The designer’s arrangements will be raffled to benefit the club’s scholarship fund. Light refreshments will be served. 

 

Speaker program begins at 11:00 am. We ask Guests to arrive at 10:45 am. Guest fee is $10, payable in cash or check at the door.  Danbury Garden Club meets at Hatter’s Park Banquet Hall, 7 East Hayestown Road, Danbury CT.

Please join us as Advanced Master Gardener Peter Russell defines and discusses the characteristics and lifecycles of weeds common to Connecticut, their ID features, and approaches to weed control.

Peter Russell is a University of Connecticut Extension Certified Advanced Master Gardener, Chairman of the Board of the Bartlett Arboretum and Gardens in Stamford Connecticut. In addition to his workshop on weeds, Peter works with corporations and organizations volunteering on projects on the Arboretum’s 93-acre campus.
